My father-in-law's 100th day memorial

Yesterday (3.23.13) was my father-in-law's 100th day memorial.  He passed away on December 14, 2012.  Our tradition is to hold two small memorials 49 days and 100 days after a love one's death.    After that we hold a yearly anniversary ceremony to commemorate his passing.  We went to the temple with our families from my side and my husband's side.  We held a little prayer that lasted an hour, then we have a small dinner cooked by the chef at the temple.  I mostly took pictures of my son and my nephew, but I still want to share them with you.

Dylan in the morning!

I love to see this face every morning when I woke up.  He just makes my day.  He's not a grumpy baby but he is a happy baby.  Unlike me, if I'm sleeping and someone try to wake me up I would be very angry.  Dylan on the other hand, he just opens his eyes and either looks at us and smile or just give us a cute look.  These pictures were taken on 03.08.13

Dylan first solid food!

I have wanted to have Dylan try solid food since he turned 4 months old, but I was busy with tax season and I was a little scared.  Anyway, today I decided to feed him his very first solid food which was organic peas from Earth best brand.  I was thinking of feeding him avocado first but my very last avocado is too ripe to feed Dylan so I go with peas instead.  To be honest the smell isn't nice, I mean I would never eat it but hey Dylan is just a baby so he doesn't know all the good food yet.  He didn't like it at first but after a few bites... he still doesn't like it.  So here is how it turned out.

Dylan - Five months!

Can you believe that?  Another month has gone by and Dylan is another month older.   A lot has happened this past month.  After the vaccinations Dylan had a high fever of 103.1F and he cried a lot.  On top of that, last 2 weeks he had a minor cold that he threw up 3 days (only in the morning) and coughed very badly.  As a mom, seeing my son suffering is not fun at all because I don't know what to do to help him.  Today he feels much better and maybe a small cough for the entire day.  Such a big relief for me.  Tax season is almost over and summer is just around the corner.  I'm super excited to see the bright light at the end of the tunnel.  Well, it isn't as bad as it sounds but I'm glad tax season is almost over and so is the cold weather.  I get to take Dylan out to enjoy the sun, I get to go places that I could not a year ago because of pregnancy, and many more exciting things to do.

Today, Dylan is 5 months.  Only one more month until he hits another big milestones or should I say another round of vaccinations awaits for him.  Keep on praying for him to be healthy!  Let's take a look at Dylan at 5 months old.
